Ikkousha Hakata Ramen

Tell me who doesn't love 1-for-1?

Thanks to Mich, we downloaded the J Passport and got this great 1-for-1 Tonkatsu Ramen deal. Even better news is that this deal is a Ikkousha Day special that is available every 15th of the month! Yay to 1-for-1 ramen every month > <

Good things are meant to be shared, simply download this J Passport app at Google Play Stores or App Store to receive many exclusive Japanese deals

After work with a hungry stomach, we headed down to CHIJMES outlet for our ramen dinner! So lucky that both outlets (CHIJMES and Tanjong Pagar) are nearby our office so we need not waste a lot of time travelling.

Upon reaching the Ikkousha Hakata and without saying much, the staff knew that we were here for the promotion > <

The restaurant is very modest and traditional like a typical Japanese Ramen restaurant you will find in Japan. It is so authentic that I felt that I was in Japan having ramen. The ordering steps were fairly simple too, we were given each a slip of paper to place our order. We can customize the saltiness of our soup flavor and toppings to add.

Each table also has a variety of condiments like ramen sauce, vinegar, white sesame, pepper and etc. and a basket of complimentary boiled eggs.

The menu is quite simple with only 4 choices of ramen and a few side dishes. I do not mind the limited menu as more choices will give me a hard time in deciding what to eat > <  As long as the food is good, there is no need for fanciful dishes.

Pigg really enjoys his ramen and devoured his bowl of noodles as though he have been starving for days. The noodles are really thin and springy accompanied with the warm pork bone broth. It would really crave for a bowl on a cold weather to warm up my stomach and body. What I would want to add if I return next time would be more chashu and flavoured egg.

Gyozas are a must to order whenever we have ramen.

I did try Ramen Champion at Bugis Plus a couple of times before, and now I can really understand how Ikkousha won first for 2 years!

Thankfully for the promotion, if not, I would not have known about such a cozy place for ramen. I would give a 4/5 for the hearty meal and first class Japanese service.

After dinner, I often crave for desserts when I'm still hungry > <

Hence, we made our way to Starbucks at Raffles City for another 1-for-1 again (:
Yay for pigg who had this welcome offer.

We ordered Caramel Frappucino as always and tried the cookie crumble cheesecake which was a tad disappointing. The cake was not that chilled and the cream cheese was lumpy and sticky :(
Totally fell for its looks and ordered cos its cookies and creme.

Well, Starbucks are not really known for their cakes, so I guess thats why...
