Banana Tree

Finally got to try Banana Tree at Keong Saik Road, a special and cute concept of bingsu and puddings in flower pots! Many thanks to Mich again for showing us the way, I did not know it was so accessible from Chinatown MRT station as it was a walkable distance.

Originated from Korea, the store layout is simple and banana themed, sporting yellow and white giving it a clean look. The entire cafe is a very cozy and every inch of it is just so photoworthy

Three of the tall tables also have wall murals that feature their signatures: Pot Bingsu, Flower Pot Pudding and Som Som Latte. The cute wall murals lets customers have a picture perfect time. The tall tables are really suitable for couples but it gets awkward taking pictures as they are situated just in front the counter

A look at their simple menu, quite helpful to have illustrations of the flower pot puddings. They just increased their prices though... the mini pot bingsu I ordered was $8.50 before, and now its $9.50

So Pretty! Can't bear to DIG IN! Hahas

Its really cute that they have the little metal shovels as spoons but I don't really understand the green chopsticks thing though, guess its just decoration? Our mini pot bingsu totally overshadowed Mich's flower pot pudding, but they really complement each other. The flowers is actually artificial, only for picture worthy purposes, they are planted to the soil with a black straw.

After the first scoop of the bingsu, I fell in love with it straight away. The shaved ice is really fine and it together with the milk and ice cream, it just melts in my mouth. The ice cream is really special too, sea salt malt flavor, not something you would commonly see outside, a refreshing twist to the overall bingsu. Along with the red beans and almonds which adds flavor and crunch to the cool dessert, this bingsu is really a work of art (:

I tried some of Mich's Strawberry flower pot pudding and I feel that it looked pretty on the outside but not really that awesome in the inside... Perhaps,it would taste better if it was more chilled? Points for its looks though, oreo crumbs and chocolate pebbles really resemble the soil and small stones.

Paul ordered this Marshmallow Hot Chocolate, and the reason he ordered is because they feel they should order something they are unable to make at home, hahas! However, it was said that it tasted a lil too sweet...

Mich and I playing around with the mini flowers which she brought home as a souvenir.

Overall, I finally got my craving satisfied and got to try it for my own after seeing the mouthwatering pictures from Instagram. The prices are considered affordable I guess? For such a good looking korean dessert (:

I would also like the give points for the interior and ambience of the cafe, a very relaxing place to chill out with a bowl of bingsu in such warm weather and yay for the free WIFI!
