My 20th Birthday

Image
Received a really sweet surprise by my Uni clique- Mini Mine today which started my morning great even though there is lecture on my birthday. Even though I sort of predicted why Claudia asked me to meet in school earlier at one of the discussion rooms, I was still surprised as I did not expect to see Jenson and Hazel there too. It was really a surprise as I entered the room with them singing Happy Birthday and presented me with a slice of my favorite black forest cake  My favorite Blackforest cake! So thoughtful that Claudia actually remembered me favorite flavor, though I do not remember telling her before. Thank you Clauds!  Also, Thank you guys for the present! It was a black backpack and again, thank you Claudia for being so thoughtful and remembered that my bag zip spoiled. I will surely use this bag well!  Wefie since there are no one there to help us with the photo taking.  I couldn't stop smiling after I received...

D'Good Cafe

Image
What's even better than to catch up with a 7 year long friend over good food, good coffee and good ambience? For that, we went all the way to D'Good Cafe at Holland Village. I have always wanted to try the food there and I finally had the time to do so and the right company to go with (:  We sat at the swing seats where we can get a view of the outside. It is really lucky that we got those seats. Actually, we came a little earlier than the people who came behind us, if not we would not have gotten the swing seats which are attractive for girls and couples.  Just chillin' and rockin' on the swing while waiting for our food to arrive  Damn good lighting too, of course, must selfie  We waited quite a while before the food arrive, I wanted to order the all day English Breakfast but they ran out of baked beans, so they do not serve it. Also, the eggs benedict were out of stock so I ordered the Linguine Alle Vongole (Clam Pasta) instead. ...

The Lab

Image
After walking for some distance from Bugis MRT, we know we have found THE LAB after seeing this famous graffiti. I have always wanted to try this halal cafe ever since April on two occasions but did not manage to as it was either closed or full house. I guess it gets crowded at dinnertime, hence, it is recommended to go on a weekday afternoon. On a side note, reservation is only available for 6 pax onwards.  The counter decorated like a lab, experimenting in progress A self service station for water and sauces.  Drinks dispenser in huge jars hanging above the counter. I wonder what is in that LOL! concoction. Lots of test tubes and bottles,   But I guess the experiment is a success, judging by the look of the pretty cakes display. What a creative way to display and store the menus, using a clothes hanger Caramel Macchiato, with the espresso in the syringe. I guess we inserted too big a dosage of the espresso...

Nuffnang Lovin' X Criollo Cocoa Cafe

Image
This is my second time attending an event invite, but this time round with pigg for  Nuffnang Lovin' X Criollo Cocoa Cafe Latte Art Workshop A simple little cafe located at Orchard Gateway where one could relax at after hours of shopping  Rainbow cake! One of the attractive cakes that caught my attention at their display counter The XXL burger looked really appetising on the menu  My Cafe hopping buddy, Pigg sitting under the sunlight  The first dish, Piperade, really got us curious as we have never seen it before. After a short introduction by the chef, we learned that this is actually a spanish dish made from red and  green peppers (piper), sauteed tomatoes, minced meat and topped with eggs that are put to bake.  It is quite an interesting dish as it resembled tomato/minestrone soup where one would eat as an appetiser along with the toasts Unlike the original, the Piperade here was rather watery, hence the...
