Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa Staycation
It's time for another staycation and thanks to Pigg's company, we get to spend one night at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa! Adding on another Sentosa hotel to our staycation list!
One selfie like a tourist with the logo before we head in to check-in
I guess due to COVID-19, they try to limit the number of people in the check-in counter, so Pigg went to check-in while I waited outside and explored the resort compounds
As the official check-in time was 3pm and we were still early, we decided to go to the spa first (which is a shuttle bus ride away). As we were hotel guests, we get to use the outdoor spa facilities for $40++ per pax ($60++ per pax for non-hotel guests).
However, facilities such as the volcanic mud pool was closed (for quite a period of time already according to the staff) and the steam room in the female's changing room was also under maintenance, which was a bummer... We felt kind of scammed as Pigg's boss and colleagues managed to use to outdoor spa facilities for FREE the next day...
The only outdoor facilities available was the pool and cascading waterfall. The pool was small as compared to the hotel's... for non-swimmers like myself, it was quite scary as one moment you are at 1.4m deep, the next moment is 2.2m...
I guess the highlight was the cascading waterfall where many will enjoy taking their IG-worthy photo
Females and males have separate changing rooms with Hot bath, Cold Bath and Steam Room facilities. Unfortunately for me, the female's steam room is out of order... I enjoyed the hot bath more, although the cold bath is only 20 degrees, it was too cold for me!
At around 4pm, Pigg received a call from the hotel that our room is ready and after washing up, we made our way back to the hotel.
We checked into our super spacious Luxury Garden room at the Tranquility wing
From our room, we also got a view of the vast gardens with trickling sounds from the water fountain.
The huge bathroom that comes with a bathtub, separate shower and toilet!
Time to explore the hotel
Spotted a female peacock frolicking around the grounds
Unique Christmas decorations - featuring the twelve dresses of Christmas
For dinner, we went to FOC Sentosa, and its our favorite beach bar/restaurant in Sentosa so far!
For starters, we had the Patatas Brava, it may look plain from this picture, but we fell in love with the taste and texture of the potatoes!
Prawns 'al ajillo', gambas, a staple that we will always go for whenever we have Spanish food.
BBQ Iberico pork ribs which was very tender, meat slides off the bone easily but a little tad greasy
After dinner, we returned back to the hotel to shower and pamper ourselves with a clay mask
Thanks to pigg who lost his trunks at the Spa and did not manage to retrieve it till after we checked out, we slept in and did not get to visit the hotel's swimming pool.
We headed for breakfast at the restaurant, we got to choose our mains and it comes with bread, oats and fruits which we were not a fan of as they were all pre-prepared and dished out as soon as we sat down.
And that marks the end of another sweet staycation at Sentosa!
