Pollen

It's Waiching's birthday and I decided to help her celebrate with a high tea session at Pollen in Gardens By The Bay. As the restaurant is located in the Flower Dome, we get a complimentary buggy service from the arrival hall right to the doorstep.  The restaurant spans over two floors and we had our afternoon tea experience on the terrace floor. A different ambience from our usual hotel or restaurant setting. We got to dine amidst the blooming florals with the majestic Marina Bay Sands as the backdrop. Even though the sky is overcast, the falling rain drops against the glass panels is certainly a sight to behold. Browsing through the selection of teas Happy Jane Would you like some tea? Red roses tea for me as I enjoy floral teas since its lighter on the palate. This tea makes me glee So good, let me have another sip And our high tea set arrived! Also a break from the usual tiered stands, Pollen's high tea is sep...

L'eclair by Sarah Michelle

Image
As usual, Pigg and I decided to celebrate Valentines early as we felt that everywhere would be crowded on the actual day. This year, to celebrate our fourth Valentines together, we went for high tea at L'eclair by Sarah Michelle .  Reservations have to be made in advance due to the limited seats and popularity of their high tea degustation sets. Initially, we wanted to go for the 2pm seating but it was fully booked and only high chairs facing the window was left. Therefore, we went for the 4pm seating. We were a little late due to the rain but luckily, the staff were understanding enough and did not give up our seat to others. The cafe is located at Singapore Shopping Centre (nearest MRT: Dhoby Ghaut) which is just opposite the Istana Park. A small yet cozy cafe which is popular among both couples and groups.  Selfie while waiting for our high tea set! Lucky us also got the window seat where the light is good for photos! Our high tea degusta...

Anti:dote @ Fairmont Hotel

Image
Finally it's the long awaited Saturday where Pigg and I will be going for high tea at Fairmont Hotel Anti:dote Lounge to celebrate our third year together!🏻  I have been looking forward to this day since the beginning of April as reservations are not easy to make for this well sought after high tea, especially for a Saturday. Anti:dote features two high tea menus with different appetisers- Anti:dote tea and oriental tea. We called for Anti:dote tea as the oriental tea appetisers was dim sum and I preferred Western when it comes to high tea. The appetizer for the Anti:dote tea also looks more worth the price. And of course, Anti:dote tea scrambled eggs is more popular as recommended by the staff. Our reservation was for the 12-2pm seating as it was as fully booked from 3-5pm, hence, we skipped breakfast to enjoy brunch! Me giving a "Don't disturb me while I enjoy my tea" look. Anti:dote offers a selection of  TWG teas to pair and complete the ...

The Providore @ Tangs

Image
Finally projects is over and its time to pig out again! To satisfy my sweet tooth and to suit pigg's preference for savory treats, we decided to go for high tea at The Providore. I recently only get to know The Providore from a class presentation and I'm quite interested to find out how their high tea tasted like! Camera eat first! Could not wait to reach the top for the desserts! Pigg pouring his blend like a gentleman Trying to pull off a similar pose but... The high tea was served in a three-tiered stand with the savories on the bottom and the sweets on the top. Of course, we ate our way up by digging in to the savories first before ending off with the sweet treats. The high tea set also came with a pot of Providore tea where we could choose from a range of blends. I chose the Forest Berry and Pigg settled for Jasmine Earl Grey. I preferred pigg's tea though as it tastes mild and light which is good in cleansing the palate. On the other...

Arteastiq Boutique Tea House @ Mandarin Gallery

Image
Finally a day to catch up with Waiching and celebrate her birthday in advance as both of us will be busy this week.  High tea indulgence at Arteastiq before hell week starts! Yay! Desserts always make me happy Ordered their signature lychee tea as recommended by the staff.  It was refreshing, not overly sweet and just nice for my palate.  The complementary biscuits that was served with the tea is hard as rock and I stopped eating after one piece. Never bite with your front teeth as you may risk breaking your tooth.  Thanks to The Entertainer App, we got to enjoy two sets double teaseries for the price of 1. The usual price is $48++ for one set but we got to enjoy the 1-for-1 deal for $34++ excluding drinks. But it was still worth it as our bill totaled to just $67 after GST and service charge.  Having only two persons, we get to eat one double teasery which is for 2 persons servings each. Even though it's for 2 persons per tea...
