Maccha House

Totally had a Matcha feast with Waiching and ducky sis yesterday at Maccha House, Orchard Central. As their name suggests, Maccha House serves a variety of matcha based desserts which matcha lovers would go crazy for. We also had a hard time deciding what to have from that array selection of matcha sweets, parfaits and dorayakis.

A matcha soft serve ice cream eaten together with a waffle-like biscuit, not really worth $7.90 looking at the portion. 


Waiching's Maccha Tiramisu 
Not chilled and matcha powder tastes bitter and overpowers the taste of tiramisu.
Thankfully for the tea to cleanse my palate.


Waiching also ordered this Traditional Maccha
Its fun to mix the powder yourself but the tea still taste too strong and Waiching felt like its not really nice. However, thumbs up for the mochi balls.   


My Maccha Chocolate Parfait
I enjoyed the top 1/3 part of the parfait where the soft serve is, the matcha ice cream is not too sweet which is good. I'm not really a fan of matcha but I feel that its not bad as taste is not too strong. The parfait also has 2 green tea nama chocolates which I feel is too rich and bitter.  



Overall, I feel that I would not really come back for more, Or maybe, if I feel like matcha, I would only order their soft serve instead of the parfait as I do not want to pay so much as I did not enjoy the tasteless jelly and whipped cream at the bottom.

Korea day 5

Time passes so fast when you are enjoying yourself. It is the fifth day in Korea. As usual, we packed up and left the resort in the morning to eat breakfast at the place we had our dinner the day before. I had quite a phobia that they will serve the fake "codfish" soup again as it does not taste nice at all. Luckily, the menu was beef stew soup but we do not eat beef so the soup was substituted with pork tonkatsu which is made with seafood. It does not taste appetising at all and I did not eat much as I am not used to eating rice for breakfast. I also hate having to eat mayonnaise with rice. It just tastes so...wierd...   After breakfast, we left for Everland. It opens at 9.30am but we reached there at about 10plus. We took a shuttle bus into the amusement park and took both group and solo photos at the entrance. Following that, we left to tour the park. Maki-San X Foodpanda

Literally rolled out of bed early for this Maki-San X FoodPanda event held at 112 Katong Maki-San's third outlet. Many thanks to Mich again for jio-ing me to this event since Paul could not make it  I've tried Maki-San once at their first Cathay outlet and I really enjoyed it and looked forward to rolling my own Makis at this event.  These days the trend is all about customization and insta-worthy food. Maki-San simply fulfill our need for novelty by allowing us to customize our very own makis with the toppings we like. Brown rice option is also available for the health conscious.  Really love the pretty and colorful packaging, which won several awards.  Even my friend brought home the boxes after eating > < Being early, we were the first to arrive at the event. We were given each a nice foodpanda apron to wear so that we will not dirty our clothes.    Mich is like a panda after suffering from insomnia last night ...

Korea day 6

In the morning after breakfast, we set off to some Korean Palace     This is my favorite picture   After that, we went to a crystal shop, gingseng shop and č‚ťäżťĺş—. At the amethyst shop, we bought some amethyst keychains while at the gingseng shop, we bought some gingseng candy and stuff. After that, we went for lunch at a ship restaurant.     There, we had Korean Steamboat and...   Bibimbap! I always thought bibimbap would not taste nice as there is egg yolk and beef in it. But the authentic bibimbap just taste so delicious! With the simmering hot plate, you can cook your rice for a while, after that you can add condiments and the ikan bilis! It is just like pepper lunch, but nicer and tastier! And fun, as you can cook your own lunch and have it whilst its hot.     After lunch, we went to a facial shop where we were taught how to cleanse, tone, moisturise, and take car...
