Universal Studios Singapore

Today was the third time I have been to Universal Studios Singapore, the first time was with my relatives from Terranganu. We went there the next day right after we have came back from Thailand. The second time was with Kherchee and family. Both our Mothers went along while our Fathers went fishing.

Today, is also Yunqi's birthday.

We went to surprise her with the cake that we baked for her yesterday and a card with our well wishes. After celebrating by singing a Happy Birthday song for her, we went to the coffeeshop opposite our secondary school to eat breakfast. A surge of nostalgia swept over us as we passed our secondary school. We had just graduated from our secondary school early this year, hence, we were filled with a lot of emotions. We were all from the same secondary school and had been classmates or schoolmates for 4 years. Now, we are all in the same polytechnic, even though some of us are in different courses. Hope our friendship lasts forever!

After a quick breakfast, we went to take the MRT towards Dhoby Ghaut and then Harbourfront. Then took RWS8 bus to Resorts World Sentosa! We reached at 10plus. Withour further ado, we went to buy the tickets at the ticketing counter. Since, we have a student pass offer, we only need to pay $55. We were abit scared as the sky started drizzling but stopped after a while.

We visited the Madagascar zone first after taking pictures with Kungfu Panda. We went for the Madagascar: A Crate Adventure boat ride first as the waiting time is only less than 5 mins. It is actually a family ride where you get to join Alex, Melman, Gloria and Marty on their quest to save the animals from the foosas.

Take a closer look at this picture, epic photobomb!

After the ride and camwhoring with the cute soft toys at the gift shop, we went outside and guess what? We were just in time for The Madagascar Boogie show! "I like to move it move it, she like to move it move it, he like to move it move it, you like to MOVE IT!" Could not stop taking pictures of the cute penguins grooving and moving to the beat.

We also queued after the show to take a picture with the penguins.

Thereafter, we went to Far Far Away to take the enchanted airways. It is actually a roller coaster of a small scale. Spot the merry cast of fairy tale creatures — from the Three Little Pigs to the Big Bad Wolf, from Gingy to Pinocchio — forms part of a magical airline in the form of a junior coaster that serves destinations throughout the World of Shrek!

Noticed that there was not really any crowds today. This maybe because of the fact that it is not a peakday (school holiday) yet. Hence, we need not wait or queue too long for each ride or show. We were counted as quite lucky then! We then took a picture outside and went for the Shrek 4-D Adventure.

Help save Princess Fiona in a totally in-your-face fairy tale adventure. Through the miracle of OgreVision you’ll see, hear, and actually FEEL the action right from your seat! Join Princess Fiona, Shrek and Donkey on a honeymoon adventure that picks up where the Oscar-winning movie “Shrek” left off, through an original 3-D film, complete with jumps, bumps, bounces, air blasts and water spray that bring the action to life for each guest- with an extra dimension of special effects through the miracle of OgreVision glasses.

Though I have watched the show before, I still get feel amazed by the tickling effects that is caused by the spiders and the water sprays.

With that, we moved on to the next zone- Lost World. We queued for quite some time at the canopy flyer. Made full use of the time to camwhore lo, time will pass faster when you are having fun. Took quite a lot of Shuqing's unglam photos.
Board your dino-proof flying vehicle as you enjoy a prehistoric bird’s eye view of Jurassic Park.

Also, after that we could not wait to experience the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure. The first two times I came to Universal Studios Singapore, the ride was unavailable. However, we may get soaked during the ride and I did not bring extra clothes, hence, we need to buy ponchos. Now, I can finally ride it! It is a boat ride with both slow and fast rapids. The tides can get so high that it got into the ride and my shoes got wet! There is also an unexpected rise of the ride and a backdrop. But the whole ride was a new experience for me and I think it was duper fun!

It’s lunch time at Jurassic Park™ and you’re on the menu. Featuring a white water raft system with state-of-the-art animatronics and a thrilling white water drop, thrill-seekers on circular rafts will be tossed on waterways within the Jurassic Park compound, where prehistoric creatures roam free.

After so much rides, all of us were hungry and we ate at the Discovery Food Court. It serves local food, but it is expensive and the food is only so-so.

As you can see, we are bored while waiting in line. So what is the best thing to do to kill time?
CAMWHORE!

Guess how much this plate of normal looking chicken rice costs? $11! But it comes with a vegetable of the day and a dessert. Agar-agar which Shuqing face immediately changed after eating a few spoonfuls.

After lunch, we decided to go for rides which are not that agressive. During this time, we can slowly digest our food before going for agressive ones, if not we will surely throw up. First, we went to sci-fi city and took the accelerator, which is like the spinning teacups in most amusement parks. But the different part is that it will slowly gain speed and turn faster. I could not take it so I closed my eyes so I would not feel dizzy.

Then we headed for the TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle. I remembered the first and second time I went to Universal Studios Singapore, we had queued for at least an hour or so for the ride. Now, we need not even have to wait for 10 mins for the ride.

Get ready to experience this hyper-realistic 3D thrill ride, right in the middle of all the action in the incredible world of TRANSFORMERS. The fate of humanity hangs in the balance as villainous DECEPTICONS invade NEST Headquarters to steal the ALLSPARK. And you’ve been volunteered to take it to safety and save our planet! Race through the city, zipping through subway tunnels, down city streets and across high-rise rooftops, hanging on for dear life. Join OPTIMUS PRIME and the AUTOBOTS as you become a freedom fighter in the ultimate 3D battle against the forces of evil.

Then we went back to Ancient Eygpt for the Mummy's revenge ride!

But first, we must rent a locker to put our stuff. The lockers would be free for 30 minutes but our waiting time for the ride is 25 minutes. Hence, we exceeded, but we still got the locker for free. The mummy's revenge ride is the most exciting ride that is second to the battlestar galactica roller coaster. It have backdrops and effects such as the heat from fireballs, swarms of scarab beetles and an army of warrior mummies, all in total darkness.

After the ride and retrieving our bags, we proceeded to lights, camera, action hosted by Steven Spielberg at New York. Be blown away by incredible special effects as an empty soundstage becomes the setting for a Category 5 major hurricane about to hit New York City. As you stand in a boathouse by the harbor, watch how a calm day suddenly turns stormy.

Brace yourself as hurricane-force winds sweep in from the sea and drive a cargo ship and debris towards the boathouse you’re in. Calm soon returns and the damaged boathouse restores itself, all thanks to movie magic.
Then, we also saw the sesame street performance by Bernie, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch. Its cute as they danced and sang about the things they like. Bernie likes pigeons, cookie monsters loves cookies while oscar loves trash.

After a short hiatus watching the streetshows, we finally proceeded back to sci-fi city for the battlestar galactica: human roller coaster. We were filled with mixed feelings as we slowly placed our stuff in the lockers and going up for the ride. We were scared yet excited. Finally, we reached and got onto the rollercoaster. Secured ourselves by held hands with one another. And together, off we go! The roller coaster went up and down and slopes and all, it was a breathtaking ride, its windy, scary and all! But it was very SHIOK!

It was almost time for the Monster Rock Live Musical, we made our way back to NewYork/Hollywood.

The Monster Rock Musical was Awesome! Filled with rock and roll and popular songs like the hot korean hit "Nobody". Rock away with monsters such as frankenstein, bride, werewolf, phantom the opera, dracula, mummy, she-wolf. Too bad they dont allow filming or cameras inside.

It was almost 7pm when we finished watching the musical. After that, we left Universal Studios and we shopped a little at the Hershey's and candylicous before taking the bus back to Vivocity to have our dinner-Long John Silvers. Everyone was bushed after a long day at USS and we can't wait to go home to have a good rest. Meanwhile, we planned for our next outing- picnic @ Marina Barrage

Here are some pictures that we took with the mascots:
