Double Celebration!

It's gonna be a long day as my day started early at 4.45am. I did not know what time I eventually fell asleep the night before when I went to bed at 11 plus. But yeah, the 4-5 hours of sleep is indeed insufficient...

However, it's gonna be a double celebration, first up is Pigg's POP graduation parade in the morning and Mich's 21st birthday party in the evening. Gonna spend my day trying to enjoy without studying.

Feeling like a zombie in the morning, we made our way to Marina Floating Platform for the parade and were one of the first few to enter as soon as the gates opened at 6am. We were greeted by a strong pong as we walked up the stairs while the air is wafted with the sweat stench of the army boys who had marched 24km. It is truly a feat but could not help but get overwhelmed by the smell. We finally got fresh air as soon as we arrived at the platform.

Seriously, we just waited there for 1 and a half hours before parade starts just to get good seats, and watch the sky change color while people start streaming in...

Finally 745, and the parade commences with the army boys marching in company by company, everyone looked the same with their uniform and it's hard to spot pigg even though he told us he is the second company to march in and he is at the top right with an outstanding bag

March in, guest of honour give speech, award ceremony for best recruit, band performance, march in and out again and finally the ceremony ends punctually at 845 when I'm spending most of the time trying to hide from the sun as I get burned easily instead of getting a nice tan.

What was the most heartwarming part of the ceremony would be the cap throwing as I can imagine the army guys finally the 2-4 months is over, bonds have being forged, they have gone through the gruelling field camp and also grown mentally and physically. Truly boys to men.

Made our way through the sea of sweat to find pigg, we quickly took pictures before we escape from the smelly crowds. I really tahan the stench.

After the ceremony, we went to Geylang Bahru Hawker Centre to have breakfast before returning home to rest where we slept straight for 3-4 hours. By the time we woke up, it was already 1plus going 2 and we made our way to Yishun Safra for the Timberland shoes sale. The shoes there were quite limited with designs and sizes, hence we went to IMM outlet after that. A lot of time is spent travelling here and there but luckily Pigg's dad drove us around and we made it to mich party on time.

I was quite shocked when I reached studio M as the picture that we saw from the site completely differs from the original room size. The place is seriously tiny.

Despite the space constraints, we still had to make do with what we have. Mich is really stressed out by everything as she did not expected the place would be that small and had a hard time thinking on how to decorate the place.

To fill the empty spaces of the wall, Paul and us prepared a surprise for Mich which a photo bunting wall collage. Together with the help of pigg and Esther, we put up the photos moving up and down the stairs.

So glad that mich really liked the photo wall with all the pictures of her and those that she had with us, her friends and Paul. I'm also glad that she liked the gift I made for her.

When all the decorations are settled, the party finally kick started with cake cutting and birthday song singing. Presenting Mich's minion birthday cake!
