Sweet Monster

Finally had my first sweets of 2016 at Sweet Monster, located at Bugis Junction. I had always wanted to try Sweet Monster ever since its launch on a few occasions after dinner but we were just too full. 


Cousin caught red handed trying to steal the popcorn.
We did not order the popcorn ice cream even though it's their signature as we had sampled their popcorn and it's not as crunchy as what we want it to be.

There were not a lot of seats available in the small dine-in area. Hence, we had no choice but to sit at the kids corner where we sat on small plastic chairs at the low table while the other lucky customers get to sit on the high stools at the high tables. Cousin was scared that he might break the chair since he is so big in size.
  

Due to popular demand from cousin and waiching, we decided to order this cookie mountain which the staff claimed is better than Oreo.

Since we had 4 people, we bought another one to share, caramel & walnut cheesecake. The cheesecake is not as nice while the ice cream is a little too sweet. However, the cookie is quite special as it's not Oreo.


Simply lovin their packaging as it's so cute and colorful!

My verdict for Sweet Monster that it indeed live up to its name, being overly sweet even for my sweet tooth. Thumbs up for its cute cartoons and packaging though!

Korea day 5

Time passes so fast when you are enjoying yourself. It is the fifth day in Korea. As usual, we packed up and left the resort in the morning to eat breakfast at the place we had our dinner the day before. I had quite a phobia that they will serve the fake "codfish" soup again as it does not taste nice at all. Luckily, the menu was beef stew soup but we do not eat beef so the soup was substituted with pork tonkatsu which is made with seafood. It does not taste appetising at all and I did not eat much as I am not used to eating rice for breakfast. I also hate having to eat mayonnaise with rice. It just tastes so...wierd...   After breakfast, we left for Everland. It opens at 9.30am but we reached there at about 10plus. We took a shuttle bus into the amusement park and took both group and solo photos at the entrance. Following that, we left to tour the park. Maki-San X Foodpanda

Literally rolled out of bed early for this Maki-San X FoodPanda event held at 112 Katong Maki-San's third outlet. Many thanks to Mich again for jio-ing me to this event since Paul could not make it  I've tried Maki-San once at their first Cathay outlet and I really enjoyed it and looked forward to rolling my own Makis at this event.  These days the trend is all about customization and insta-worthy food. Maki-San simply fulfill our need for novelty by allowing us to customize our very own makis with the toppings we like. Brown rice option is also available for the health conscious.  Really love the pretty and colorful packaging, which won several awards.  Even my friend brought home the boxes after eating > < Being early, we were the first to arrive at the event. We were given each a nice foodpanda apron to wear so that we will not dirty our clothes.    Mich is like a panda after suffering from insomnia last night ...

Korea day 6

In the morning after breakfast, we set off to some Korean Palace     This is my favorite picture   After that, we went to a crystal shop, gingseng shop and č‚ťäżťĺş—. At the amethyst shop, we bought some amethyst keychains while at the gingseng shop, we bought some gingseng candy and stuff. After that, we went for lunch at a ship restaurant.     There, we had Korean Steamboat and...   Bibimbap! I always thought bibimbap would not taste nice as there is egg yolk and beef in it. But the authentic bibimbap just taste so delicious! With the simmering hot plate, you can cook your rice for a while, after that you can add condiments and the ikan bilis! It is just like pepper lunch, but nicer and tastier! And fun, as you can cook your own lunch and have it whilst its hot.     After lunch, we went to a facial shop where we were taught how to cleanse, tone, moisturise, and take car...
