CoolPlay Soft Serve

No need to go all the way to Taiwan to enjoy this soft serve that is full of swag, it is now available in the neighbourhood of Toa Payoh. After a 10 minute walk from Toa Payoh MRT, we finally found this simple little shop, filled with many different props for photo taking. 


The flavours of the week are heavy chocolate, milk tea and melons. 
Be it cup or cone, double flavours are priced at $5.50 while single flavour are available for $5.


Not everyone can pull off a moustache and look cool, but Coolplay soft serves certainly can.


Heavy Chocolate X Milk Tea combination is a little too rich whereas the combination of rock melons and honeydew taste light and suited our sweet tooth more. The moustache is actually an edible biscuit but a little disappointing that it do not have much taste. On a side note, the soft serves are really suitable for the hot and hazy days, however they do melt real fast and be sure to take your photographs real quick before they melt.   


Cool postcards that we got by posting a photo on Instagram and #coolplaysg. Simply show your post to the counter and you are able to choose from a moustache pen, postcard and post-it pack or a moustache sticker. Since we bought two soft serves, we got two free gifts.




Of course, before leaving the store, we had to spam photos together with the cute props.

Korea day 5

Time passes so fast when you are enjoying yourself. It is the fifth day in Korea. As usual, we packed up and left the resort in the morning to eat breakfast at the place we had our dinner the day before. I had quite a phobia that they will serve the fake "codfish" soup again as it does not taste nice at all. Luckily, the menu was beef stew soup but we do not eat beef so the soup was substituted with pork tonkatsu which is made with seafood. It does not taste appetising at all and I did not eat much as I am not used to eating rice for breakfast. I also hate having to eat mayonnaise with rice. It just tastes so...wierd...   After breakfast, we left for Everland. It opens at 9.30am but we reached there at about 10plus. We took a shuttle bus into the amusement park and took both group and solo photos at the entrance. Following that, we left to tour the park. Maki-San X Foodpanda

Literally rolled out of bed early for this Maki-San X FoodPanda event held at 112 Katong Maki-San's third outlet. Many thanks to Mich again for jio-ing me to this event since Paul could not make it  I've tried Maki-San once at their first Cathay outlet and I really enjoyed it and looked forward to rolling my own Makis at this event.  These days the trend is all about customization and insta-worthy food. Maki-San simply fulfill our need for novelty by allowing us to customize our very own makis with the toppings we like. Brown rice option is also available for the health conscious.  Really love the pretty and colorful packaging, which won several awards.  Even my friend brought home the boxes after eating > < Being early, we were the first to arrive at the event. Mean Bean & Wicked Grind

After sending cousin off at Goldenmile for her coach to Kuala Lumpur, we decided to go check out Mean Bean & Wicked Grind cafe which is nearby, at The Plaza. From Goldenmile tower, The Plaza is straight up and around 10 minutes walk away. It is also just opposite Haji Lane which is quite accessible for us to go Bugis as we planned to watch a movie after checking out the cafe.  Upon reaching The Plaza, we were a little unsure if we were at the right place as it does not seem like where cafes normally should be. The reviews were accurate, this cafe is quite hard to find > <  All the stores there were mostly furniture stores or travel agencies, hence, we decided to check with the information desk. Much to our surprise, the counter staff knew almost immediately where we wanted to go and gave us directions that it is straight up inside. HOW ULU!  We finally found the cafe!
