My 20th Birthday

Received a really sweet surprise by my Uni clique- Mini Mine today which started my morning great even though there is lecture on my birthday. Even though I sort of predicted why Claudia asked me to meet in school earlier at one of the discussion rooms, I was still surprised as I did not expect to see Jenson and Hazel there too. It was really a surprise as I entered the room with them singing Happy Birthday and presented me with a slice of my favorite black forest cake 


My favorite Blackforest cake! So thoughtful that Claudia actually remembered me favorite flavor, though I do not remember telling her before. Thank you Clauds! 


Also, Thank you guys for the present! It was a black backpack and again, thank you Claudia for being so thoughtful and remembered that my bag zip spoiled. I will surely use this bag well!

We still had around 10 mins before lecture starts and I enjoyed my Blackforest cake since I did not have breakfast yet. Yummy !


It was our last ITI lecture before revision week and exams and Ms Eliver gave us chocolates as a gift 

After lecture we quickly headed to Holland V for Lunch! We wanted to dine at Bar Bar Black Sheep but upon reaching, we were told that the kitchen had closed and they will only be opened at 5.30pm. 
Hence, we decided to go to D'Good Cafe instead


D'Good Cafe had a birthday special for those who celebrate their birthdays on that day there. The special is a JUMBO cream frappe which we get to upsize for free by purchasing a large frappe. 

Got a shock after seeing this gigantic cup of frappe that resembled a huge protein shake for musclemen 


Me and Claudia holding the jumbo frappe, and it's so heavy! We were given a Polaroid which we were told to return after decorating so they can put up on their birthday wall. I was quite pissed with their subpar service hence I decided to just keep the Polaroid since they never get it back from me 


 
Wefie again before our lunch! I was a little disappointed with my clam pasta as it is salty unlike the previous time when I had it. The rest had carbonara and theirs were also quite dry -.- 

D'Good might have to reconsider their name as it does not sound as good as they claim since the standard dropped and the service is poor

There's always room for dessert! After we finished our lunch, we headed to Chip Bee Gardens Sunday Folks which is quite conveniently located opposite. Thumbs up for their Gula Melaka ice cream and plating though I felt our soft serve looks shorter than other tables 


Once again! I am really happy to be able to spend my birthday with these lovely bunch of people and I really appreciate the mini surprise, lunch treat, thoughtful present and the wonderful company! Thank You guys!

Good to know about your 20th birthday. Last month, it was my parents’ 25th anniversary and I had arranged a grand party for them at one of exotic NYC venues which I got to know from internet. Invited all our family and friends and had a memorable party.

Korea day 5

Time passes so fast when you are enjoying yourself. It is the fifth day in Korea. As usual, we packed up and left the resort in the morning to eat breakfast at the place we had our dinner the day before. I had quite a phobia that they will serve the fake "codfish" soup again as it does not taste nice at all. Luckily, the menu was beef stew soup but we do not eat beef so the soup was substituted with pork tonkatsu which is made with seafood. It does not taste appetising at all and I did not eat much as I am not used to eating rice for breakfast. I also hate having to eat mayonnaise with rice. It just tastes so...wierd...   After breakfast, we left for Everland. It opens at 9.30am but we reached there at about 10plus. We took a shuttle bus into the amusement park and took both group and solo photos at the entrance. Following that, we left to tour the park. Maki-San X Foodpanda

Literally rolled out of bed early for this Maki-San X FoodPanda event held at 112 Katong Maki-San's third outlet. Many thanks to Mich again for jio-ing me to this event since Paul could not make it  I've tried Maki-San once at their first Cathay outlet and I really enjoyed it and looked forward to rolling my own Makis at this event.  These days the trend is all about customization and insta-worthy food. Maki-San simply fulfill our need for novelty by allowing us to customize our very own makis with the toppings we like. Brown rice option is also available for the health conscious.  Really love the pretty and colorful packaging, which won several awards.  Even my friend brought home the boxes after eating > < Being early, we were the first to arrive at the event. We were given each a nice foodpanda apron to wear so that we will not dirty our clothes.    Mich is like a panda after suffering from insomnia last night ...

Korea day 6

In the morning after breakfast, we set off to some Korean Palace     This is my favorite picture   After that, we went to a crystal shop, gingseng shop and 肝保店. At the amethyst shop, we bought some amethyst keychains while at the gingseng shop, we bought some gingseng candy and stuff. After that, we went for lunch at a ship restaurant.     There, we had Korean Steamboat and...   Bibimbap! I always thought bibimbap would not taste nice as there is egg yolk and beef in it. But the authentic bibimbap just taste so delicious! With the simmering hot plate, you can cook your rice for a while, after that you can add condiments and the ikan bilis! It is just like pepper lunch, but nicer and tastier! And fun, as you can cook your own lunch and have it whilst its hot.     After lunch, we went to a facial shop where we were taught how to cleanse, tone, moisturise, and take car...
