Resorts World Sentosa Staycation
RWS Staycation
Unable to go to Hong Kong due to the high flight prices as we cannot book early, we decided to make do with a RWS Staycation! We purchased the 3D2N MasterCard Promotion at Hard Rock hotel which includes tickets to Universal Studios, SEA Aquarium and Adventure Cove
Staycation Day 1
As the check-in time was at 3pm, we had lunch at Vivocity,Tai Lei Lok Kei 澳门大利来记 to make up for our unable to go to Hongkong and Macau.
On the other hand, as I was not feeling very hungry due to the late breakfast, I ordered the Portuguese Noodles and Iced Lemon Tea. It tasted like Hokkien Mee but with bigger prawns and thickly cut squid which attempted to choke me. Not very tasty and I would rather eat Hokkien Mee
After we are done with lunch, we were still quite early, therefore, we walked around Vivocity before heading to RWS via the Boardwalk (which was free!)
Hard Rock Hotel
We reached HRH which was near SEA Aquarium. I have never stayed at HRH before and I was quite looking forward to their rooms as the one that I saw online looked really nice!
The check-in queue was quite long and I kind of regretted as we should have arrived earlier instead of walking around at Vivo. We waited for more than half an hour before it reached our turn
I was quite disappointed once we reached our room as it nowhere looked like the deluxe room I saw online. Our room though spacious, looked quite empty in comparison. There was no window sofa and instead of a full carpeted floor, there's only a rug -.-
To add to our disappointment, we found out that there is no free WiFi which should be a given these days... the complimentary music service also works better on laptop rather on our phones and saps data
One saving grace for the room is that at least they use Simmons brand beds which are really comfortable, one key thing that we look for hotels are comfy beds which allows us to have a good night's rest after a long day outside.
Liked that they have the makeup mirror which I found it quite handy to use when putting on my lenses. The claimed signature guitar shaped vanity kit was quite meh-ish as I expected something better.
But at least we still had a good view overlooking adventure cove and the sea
It was almost 5pm by the time we finished settling down, therefore we decide to head to SEA Aquarium which is just near to our hotel.
Feel like jumping into the pool since it is such good weather but we have too much to do!
A picture with the iconic Hard Rock Hotel Guitar to mark the start of our staycation!
To satisfy the pigg's inner kid, we decided to pay $8 each for tickets to the Pokemon Research Exhibition at SEA Aquarium
The professor giving us a short briefing on the courses available and that we can try 4 stations to find out which Pokémon is inside our pokeball.
Not being so ambitious, I chose the great ball while Pigg went straight for the ultra ball
First station we tried out the silhouette shooter where we are able to capture the top view of the Pokémon
Pigg trying out his second station, the outline shooter where we have to step real fast in order to get a outline of how the Pokémon looks like. I sucked really bad at this station as it require stamina ><

As we were out from the Madagascar: A crate adventure ride, it started to rain and thinking the rain might last a while, we bought an umbrella which costs us $10 from the gift store.
And so, we headed to the Elmo spaghetti space chase ride as we did not want to go anywhere else in the rain. The queue for the ride was particularly long due to the rain.
It was a snaking queue which brings us outside the window displays.

Feels as though we are in a completely new country

Waiting for my Pigg...
Its a nice weather to have some splashing good fun under the sun!
At 5.30pm Professor Pikachu came out and we quickly queued to meet him!
After gathering the clues from the stations, I concluded that the Pokémon in my great ball is actually a weaville! A fan shaped head with 3 eyelashes on each eye!
And... I got it correct!
Overall, I felt that the exhibition is nothing much as it is quite small. I expected more interaction from the stations rather than just placing the ball there and getting the clues. Other than the outline shooter which requires us to step on it, the other stations are quite easy for us to gain clues without doing much.
SEA Aquarium
This is the second time I'm here with Pigg at the SEA Aquarium and also my third time as I have been here before with my grandma, cousin and sister. Actually, once is enough for me, but since our package includes the tickets, why not just make the best out of it. Though nothing much changed over the year since I have been here, more memories are made together with Pigg.
We were out when the Aquarium is about to close and we quickly head to the large Aquarium outside to take a photo
Surprisingly, the photo turned out quite well as we makeshift our own tripod by putting the monopod on the floor and propping it with our bags before using the phone timer to capture this shot.
Satisfied with our picture, we headed to Vivocity for dinner. After much deliberation on where to dine at, we settled for ramen. Afterwards, we walked around for a bit before heading back to our hotel to rest for the night.
While heading to the monorail as we were given a complimentary 3-day pass, we came across this huge carousel Christmas tree and we certainly have to take a picture.
And on our way back to the hotel, we decided to switch on Pokémon Go as there are a lot of Pokémon at RWS. At night, all the shops are closed and it is almost a ghost town, therefore it was the best time for us to take photos without people judging us 😂 It was actually quite fun as it was as though we had the entire place to ourselves. Armed with a shutter, we waited for the universal globe to turned and bursted shots so we can slowly pick and choose the good photos

Back to our hotel to rest up for Universal Studios which would be another long day.
Staycation Day 2
Rise and shine for our day 2 of Staycation!
We had breakfast at Toast Box which is marked-up as it is RWS... The vintage looking Toast Box looked Atas much with marble tables and sophisticated interior decoration. Was forced to be healthy as they served wholemeal bread for their toasts
Universal Studios Singapore
Again, it was not our first time at USS together and we had been here for at least 4 times together for rides and also Halloween Horror Nights.
Since we had been here multiple times, our agenda for the day is actually for their Christmas activities, therefore we were not going to take many rides but take our time and enjoy the season specials
Met Frankenstein donned in his winter wear as soon as we entered USS
An announcement about the Jurassic Park kept playing on the speakers and curious what it was all about, we headed to the zone. It was actually a mini opening ceremony to start the rides at Jurassic park... though not much, it was a new experience and our first time witnessing this.
Pigg riding his yellow cart while we were on the way to Far Far Away
Since we just had breakfast and could not go for heavy rides, we headed to our first ride which is the Puss in Boots giant journey suspended coaster which is a new addition to the park after the last time we came. Though not as exciting as the Battlestar Galactica rollercoasters, I guess my full breakfast still gave me some queasiness after riding.
And so, we headed to the Elmo spaghetti space chase ride as we did not want to go anywhere else in the rain. The queue for the ride was particularly long due to the rain.
It was a snaking queue which brings us outside the window displays.
And finally, we reached our turn! It was quite a kids ride but yeah, we are still young at heart.
After the ride, we still had some time before the musical start, therefore, we decided to go for the Steven Spielberg's Lights Camera Action experiential stage to kill some time. Even though we have watched the same thing for many times before, the sound stage effects always seem to take my breath away. I liked how I could experience all the effects that I always see in a movie comes live in front of my eyes but perhaps its time for them to reinvent a new stage?
By the time we came out, it was almost time for the musical and we quickly went to the theatre to join the existing queue.
While waiting to watch the Christmas special musical: Bah Humbug!
I have always loved musicals and the casts really have good voices! Really enjoyed listening to the cast of our favorite cartoons like sesame street, minions signing to Christmas carols!
Decided to explore the Sting Alley which is apparently a hotspot for Insta-worthy shots.
Decided to make full use of the $10 umbrella even though it had stopped raining.

Feels as though we are in a completely new country
Santa's Village
Then we headed to Santa Village, was greeted by this bubbly elf who appeared curious at first world selfie camera technology
Danced with Gingerbread Man, so amazed that he could spin around on the stage during the musical
Met more Santa helpers along the way
With Pigg while we were queuing to take pictures with Santa
With a toy soldier with such a small face that made him look like a Korean pretty boy!
Beautiful lights above, when the clock struck to the next hour, the elves would scramble and pass around presents to deliver to the good children. It was a really interactive experience as guests can take part in this.
After not long, we get to snap a picture with Santa!
Universal Journey
Thereafter, we decided to head back to our hotel for a short rest and change out of our sweaty clothes before coming back again to view the light displays at Universal Journey.
The light installations did not fail to amaze me as I awed by the pretty lights.
Simply had to take photos as soon as we entered.
The first light installation made us feel as though we are transported to the Galaxy or Milky Way.
Could not help but by dazzled by the twinkling lights.
Yet again transported to another scene, as though we are in a winter country.
The lights behind us seems like fire and ice, like what Pigg said, like fire and ice, a relationship needs its hot and cold, highs and lows, to forge into something strong.
And we passed through the tunnel of lights
Before we reach a European town
Cute reindeer!
So many people, but it does not stop us from getting good pictures.
Feels as though its snowing!
Waiting for my Pigg...
One last picture before we head to Vivocity for dinner!
Its always a tough decision when it comes to what to eat, but at last, we settled on Swensen's
Hard Rock Cafe
After watching the fireworks at USS, we headed to Hard Rock Cafe for a drink and some music.
Some nachos to go with the drinks!
Chilling to great music and good food for our last night at RWS.
Staycation Day 3
Adventure Cove
Rise and shine for Adventure cove! Our last attraction to end our 3D2N staycation. Its a nice weather to have some splashing good fun under the sun!
Even though its my second time here at Adventure Cove, coming to a water park with my boyfriend is simply a difference experience.
Throughout this short staycation, we indeed made lots of memories even though we are unable to travel overseas. But I guess, no matter where we go, its the company that matters.
