BKK X FAMILY
Day 1
Time for Bangkok again in less than 2 months! This time round with my beloved family!
We took Cathay Pacific though as the prices for budget air is surprisingly more expensive when we booked our flights and hotel together on Expedia.com
We got to choose either seafood pasta or chicken with rice for our inflight meal! I got the
chicken with rice which looks simple but tastes really good! The black pepper gravy goes well with the rice and enough to satisfy my savoury tastebuds. The chocolate banana cake is also Yums!
Birdie sis took my bun since I did not want it anymore. Surprisingly, she enjoyed the bun more than her seafood pasta.
After a 2 hour plus flight with turbulence here and there, we finally touched down at Suvarnabhumi airport. It feels like just yesterday that I came to Bangkok as memories from my trip last month still stay fresh in my mind.
What's different this time round is the company and some bonding with my family. Also, since I had been to Bangkok so many times, I will be their tour guide this time round and bring my excited birdie sis to the best places to shop.
After clearing immigrations, we went to purchase the SIM card before taking a taxi to our hotel. This time round, we are staying at hotel Ibis Nana.
Our itinerary for the first day is quite slack since we just arrived. Hence, I decided to bring my family to Siam so we can have dinner before heading out to the Siam square night market.
First up, we had dinner at Yayoi, a Japanese restaurant at Siam Square One. I wanted to bring my family to eat Somboon Seafood but there was a queue and we had to wait for 30mins. Since my Dad was hungry, we decided to dine at Yayoi instead. So glad that Dad enjoyed his meal, a great start to the trip with a nice dinner!
I ordered grilled Salmon set meal and it costs only 309 baht!
We ordered green tea and surprisingly, it all came in a cute teapot and mini teacup. Hence, we had 4 sets of the tea and the table got a little crowded.

Overall, dinner was good! And the prices were quite reasonable! After the filling meal, we headed outside where the bustling night market is! And we shopped the entire street and my sis ended up with bags while I got two pairs of shoes.
After reaching the end of the shopping street, we decided to head to Erawan shrine to pray via the overhead bridges linking Siam and Chidlom. While we were walking halfway, it started raining cats and dogs and luckily, the BTS stations are all connected and we are well sheltered from the rain.
Last but not least, we bought back mango sticky rice to the hotel to eat and that ends our first relaxing day in Bangkok!
DAY 2
Rise and shine for day 2! Woke up at 8am (thai time) to prepare for the day ahead! Today's coordinate is a Thai style blouse bought by Aunt Jo for me last year 😁 and also my favorite straw hat to cover my messy hair 😂
At around 930am, we hopped onto the hotel free shuttle service to Nana BTS station. On the way, we made friends with a couple from Indonesia and we decided to join them to go to Chatuchak.
It was my first time taking the train to Chatuchak as all the while, I have been taking the taxi there.
Hence, we took the BTS all the way till Mo chit station before taking a shortcut which leads to Chatuchak. Turns out the couple have been to BKK for quite a few times and they guide us the way. I didn't even knew that there was a shortcut!
Once we reached, we decided to grab some breakfast before starting our shopping, hence we parted ways with the couple after exchanging our email addresses. Its really nice to meet people during travelling and they offered to host us when we visit Indonesia!
We had our breakfast at one of the street stalls along the road. Even though it might not be as hygienic as restaurants, the freshly fried omelette is something worth sacrificing our stomachs for!
Sipping on refreshing coconut juice before starting on our shopping! Cute Uncle behind who shouts "Coconut!" when cutting open the fruit whenever someone purchase one from him.

Fruit stalls selling cut fruits for those who wants their daily vitamin intake.
Bangkok not only sells fruit scented soaps, but also...
What's Bangkok without Thai Iced Milk Tea?
Had to get a cup after much shopping under the hot weather.
My sis met her cockroach friend in BKK
Had to have a coconut ice cream whenever I come to Chatuchak!
Could not help but tie up my hair as it is so warm!
Picture of Mumsy and Daddy in front of the iconic clock tower
We walked from one end to the other of Chatuchak and we ended up at the entrance. I have never entered from the entrance before and we have to take a picture for memorysake
Me and le sis
After that, we decided to take the taxi to Bungsaram Fishing Park. And boy, it sure was a long ride of 1 hour before we reach the park.
Finally reached the fishing park after a long ride! Picture time with the hugeass fish!
Cool fishing park with a kampong and resort feel
Dad snapped this picture of us while he is opposite exploring the fishing park.
Lunchtime! Love the crabmeat fried rice!
Birdie Sis and Daddy
Me and Mumsy

Time for Dad to enjoy fishing after the hearty lunch!
Dad fighting the fish for almost 7minutes!
And Tadah! It was a great catch of 40kg! So glad that Dad enjoyed as part of the agenda for this trip is to celebrate Father's Day
We spent around 2-3 hours there and Dad caught three fishes. We decided to head back to the hotel so that Dad can take a bath before heading out again
We had dinner at Nara Thai at the Emquartier. Dinner was really good! Major love the morning glory and shrimp paste chicken
After that, we headed to Artbox! Finally had the chance to come here as the previous time when we wanted to come it was closed!
Bustling with vibrancy
One of Artbox unique selling point is that there are backgrounds and places for you to pose for photos!
Birdie and her coloring loaded gummy bear drink
And I got my lightbulb drink! Pink lemonade!
A cool drink served in a plastic lightbulb bottle and a cute lightbulb keychain which lights up in different colors for just 80 baht!
Ambassador of Artbox food
Live music serenades the crowd
The seafood looked tempting and we had to try the scallops
One last picture of Mumsy and Daddy before we leave Artbox and return to our hotel for a good night rest!
Overall, Artbox is quite an interesting place to visit with all the cool looking food and artsy fartsy items to purchase. Their items may be a little bit on the pricey side but most of them are handmade and also designer items, hence the price. Personally, I enjoy my visit to Artbox a lot as I get to buy special and interesting stuff there, like customized earpiece holder. However, if you are not into such stuff, you may find this place a little boring like how my parents felt. Anyway, Artbox will be shifting once again to another location after the end of this month. Do check for updates whenever you want to visit as they may not be open all the time (:
Day 3
Good morning! Time passed in a flash and its day 3, our last day in Bangkok before I return to internship life
First stop of the day is Yaowarat, Chinatown of Bangkok! We took a taxi there as it is not so accessible by MRT or BTS
We decided to have an early lunch as we did not have any breakfast. Hence, we dined at a Chinese restaurant which is quite famous for their shark fin. It's a must eat at Bangkok Chinatown as it is relatively cheap but I still feel guilty eating it and gave most of it to my Dad
Lunch for today was roast duck, mixed vegetables, dim sum and shark fin soup! The roast duck is really good and coupled with sweet chrysanthemum tea, my meal is complete! Everything I ate in Bangkok so far is just so delicious
After lunch we went to shop around. Chinatown market is where all the stalls selling dried seafood are and I also managed to buy a set of clothes for Grandma
After that, we headed opposite to Sampeng Market where all the cheap stuff are! I saw this open air stall selling all the stuffed toys starting from 100 baht to 1000 baht! Damn cheap!
I was quite tempted to buy but where would I have the space to store them!
After much exploring at Chinatown and getting all the stuff that we need, we cabbed back to Terminal 21 where we got our seaweed and snacks at Taokaenoiland! Crazy sis bought 2 bags full of snacks while me and mum got one bag each so we can bring to our workplace to share
We then headed back to the hotel to put our stuff before heading back out for a massage! Felt so light after a one hour foot reflexology session!
Without wasting any time, we headed to Thai Cultural Centre MRT station
Dinner at Yayoi again but this time round at Esplanade Mall before we head out to Train Market Ratchada. Had Yakisoba which is a little on the salty side. We also ordered the green tea again, but this time, we are smart enough to just order two cups and request for another two cups to share.
Time to do our last minute shopping!
Had a fun time shopping with le sis as we spend our baht away without much hesitation since its the last day and its quite useless to keep the money since we would not be returning back any time soon.
Late night supper after much shopping! We tried this seafood platter at one of the stalls whereby everything is poured out on the table and we were given plastic gloves to eat with our hands. It was a pretty much interesting experience but the seafood was only so-so as its not very fresh especially the sotong which tastes super mushy.
Back at our hotel to pack our stuff! These are the loots we got from the 4D3N trip!
The previous time I came I bought so many clothes for work! This time round, I bought more clothes for casual wear
