Pangkor Pangkor!

Pulau Pangkor!
In the morning 7.30am, woke up and cleaned up so that we are on our way to K.kangsar-Kher chee's house. After that, we went to a nearby eating house for breakfast before going back to her house again to relieve ourselves and leaving for Pulau Pangkor:)
It was a 2 hour car ride and we had nothing else to do except taking a nap. Luckily, when we woke up, we reached Marina island jetty and in time to take the 12nn ferry to Pulau Pangkor. But the skies would not agree with us in terms of the weather, when we were up on the deck of the ferry, white magnolia clouds started to gather to become big scary grey clouds. Within moments, big drops of rain started to pelt and we had no choice but to seek shelter. Haiz, no more going outdoors to feel the breezy sea wind brushing against our skin... It was a 5mins ferry ride so we reached in no time. Upon arrival, we took a pink taxi van to our apartment hotel-pangkor puteri resort.I was filled with anticipation of how our hotel would look like as I had heard some bad feedback from the day before.
Unluckily, when we left our taxi van, we went into the lobby of the hotel and a Indian woman greeted us and and told us they our check-in time is 3pm. Hence, we had no choice but to leave our luggage in the lobby and go for lunch in the meantime. Also, we have to brave the rain and look around for places to eat as it was our first time there. We seeked shelter at a mini market that sold fresh catches of Pulau Pangkor famous dried ikan bilis and octopuses. Meanwhile, while browsing around the shop, we asked the friendly shopkeeper and salespersons for places to eat and places of interest so that we can fill up our then hungry stomachs. Then after thanking them, we left for another shop while waiting for the rain to stop.
It took an hour or so for the rain to become smaller. We quickly rushed to the opposite restaurant to have lunch. We had the set meal for 10 which includes of 宫保苏东,紫菜汤,清蒸鱼,咖哩蟹,铁板豆腐 and a vegetable dish. While waiting for the dishes to be served, we had hot Chinese tea to warm us up. Then we saw familiar faces, the coffee shop uncle with his family also touring Pulau Pangkor. They were also having lunch at the same place as us. We heard from them that they were staying at a nearby bungalow house and they invited us to visit them after lunch.
So after a hearty meal, we went to their house. We took a look around the house and it was similar to that of a bungalow house, with a living room with a television with many astro channels, a dining room and kitchen, 3 rooms upstairs. A master bed room has 3 queen sized beds and toilet and another room with a mattress. We wowed as it only costs 300+rm to rent the house. After that, us kids went downstairs to play tap tap 4 on my iPad and watched television. From a advertisement poster, we saw pictures of the different islands and sea activities we can do. I badly wanted to go on the banana boat! There are also other sea activities like the boat ride which will take us to visit different islands, the jetsky motor boat ride, diving and fishing. Of course, we could not play any of the activities just yet as it was still raining and we have yet to go back to our hotel and settle things.
It was almost time and we bade goodbye to the family and went back to check-in. After checking in and taking our luggages, we took the small lift with the slowest speed up to the fourth floor where we will be staying and went to apartment number 501. To our shock when we opened the door, we saw water dripping heavily from upstairs and the floor was wet. Filled with anger, our mums quickly went downstairs to lodge a complaint. Minutes later, they came up with the indian woman, named k.shanthi whom i knew was the manager of the hotel. She was also in shock when she saw the mess. Then she went up to take a look. When she came down, she told us that she had asked repairmen to repair the pipes for 8 hours and for 200rm the day before and when they finished repairing they did not switch off the pressure pipe which resulted in this mess. But after all that she said she had not apologised and asked us if we wanted a change of rooms and that she would refund us or anything. She only asked us to wait for half an hour while she cleared the mess and we requested to go to the opposite apartment which doors were opened to take a rest and take a look around. We also said that if the apartment is the same, we would want to take the apartment instead.
But what we saw was, cracked toilet doors, fused bulbs, dirty bed sheets which I supposed that it was not cleaned, ants and pests crawling around the floors, cupboards without drawers, empty lamps without bulbs, refrigerator without electricity, dirty and stained windows and coffee tables, spoiled armchairs, faulty air cons which produces a buzzing sound when switched on and chipped coffee tables.
It was disaster and I could not bear to stay at this apartment anymore. I badly wanted to switch to the opposite hotel-coralbay. And this apartment hotel had no wi-fi at all!!!! We had no choice but to wait for the cleaning crew to clean up the mess. Time was wasted. Finally when they finished cleaning up, we monitored and asked them to change the bed and sheets which was wet because of the leakage. The apartment also had no toilet paper, floor mats and soap. The television upstairs was also faulty and only had 3 channels. Even though we were upset about all the unpleasant conditions, we had no choice but to stick to staying at the apartment as we were only here for a day.
It was quite late in the afternoon and it was still raining. Hence, we went for an round about tour by renting a taxi van. It costs us 80rm for a 2 and a half hours tour. The driver explained to us the significance of the different rocks as we toured the hills. First stop, we went to the temple, the adults prayed while we took pictures. The driver only gave us 15-20 mins for this scenic spot so after praying, we proceeded back to the taxi van. Second stop, we went to the dolphin brand factory, which manufactures and sell local products. We bought and left for the other scenic spot, while we clambered back to the taxi van, we saw a monkey on top of a 天线. We were told that the monkeys would climb into the houses to people to scurry for food. Then we were on our way to another temple where there is a mini great wall, turtles, and big fishes. Then we proceeded to the Dutch ford, took pictures as this was our last scenic spot before the driver send us back to our resort.
Tired and hungry, some of us went for a bath and then went for dinner as its almost dinner time at 高老海鲜 restaurant. The food was quite good as there were many patrons. Then we ordered, ate, finished up and went for a walk at the beach before returning to our apartment for a good night's rest. I took a bath as soon as I returned to my room, damn, the water flow of the shower was damn small and i took a long time bathing.
After bathing, us kids went to take photos using the photobooth and camera of Kher chee's iPad while the adults went upstairs for a drink and watch tv. Luckily, the tv was back to normal when we came back. Then we ate and slept like logs till the next morning!
