Switzerland Honeymoon: Zurich

Our first stop in Zurich is the Lindt Home of Chocolate Museum!

We were greeted by the giant fondue with flowing chocolate (apparently the 9m tall structure is made of real chocolate!) once we stepped into the museum. The museum have free lockers where we can store our jackets and bags so we can feel light while exploring.

Did not take much pictures as we were immersed and having fun with the interactive exhibits. One can easily spend 2-3 hours here going on the full audio guided tour

Got transported to the cocoa forests at the first exhibit

One of the highlights is the free-flow chocolate tasting stations! At the end of the tour we also got samples of the Lindt chocolate truffles.

Sending a photo to the wall to mark our visit to the museum

With our chocolate loots! The Lindt chocolate is easily available everywhere in Switzerland but the store at the Museum sells several exclusive flavours and you can pick and mix to try different flavours. My favourite was the cookies and cream chocolate truffles.

We derailed from our original plans and went to the FIFA Museum (free admission with Swiss Travel Pass) since it was World Cup season. We also manage to get a T-Shirt for Pigg’s Dad.

Spot our Singapore jersey!

Cheering as though we are at the match

Turned out we enjoyed our time at the FIFA Museum more than we expected (since we are not soccer fans). We got to be “pro” players by putting our soccer skills to the test at the Pinball exhibit. We even got a player name!

We headed to McDonalds for lunch after sweating it out at the FIFA Museum. We sat at the alfresco area where we could feel the cold wind and trams passing. Shoutout to my favorite drink of the trip - Sparkling Apple Juice

Had Toblerone McFlurry for dessert!

We then returned to Zurich station to collect our station and checked in to our hotel - Movenpick Hotel Zurich Airport. We chose this hotel as it is near the airport and provides a free airport shuttle since our Swiss Travel Pass would end on our departure day.

After we got settled with our luggage, we went to Bellevue Christmas, set in front of the Opera House

Picture with a proper Christmas tree

Love this Salmon! Fish is not common is Switzerland and I was happy to have some

Pork Sausage, a little charred but it tasted not bad

Pancakes with cranberry and apple sauce

On our way back, we popped by the Christmas market at Zurich main railway station

The huge Christmas tree looks like it is glowing

Pigg “exercising” on the threadmill to light up the tree

A statue of Alfred Escher, a Zurich Politician and Entrepreneur watches over the station

As much as we wished we had more time, this was our last night in Zurich, Switzerland.
