The Betterfield Cafe

Image
Due to Claudia's special request to dine at a cafe and have bingsu as dessert after lunch, I picked out a list of cafés near bugis area. And finally we shortlisted to The Betterfield cafe which serves Italian and French fusion cuisine and most importantly, Claudia's favorite dish- pasta The birthday girl was late, but an exemption is given since she's the biggest for the day. We then made our way to Blk 261 where the quaint cafe is located. So glad I suggested ordering this truffle fries which tasted fantastic and also the staff guaranteed that it will taste way better than Mcdonalds petroleum tasting truffle fries. We ordered the medium one instead of the large one and I kind of regretted since it tasted so good. Every single fry is coated with truffle oil, and the fragrance of the truffle is subtle and not overpowering. I thereby crown the fries as one of the best truffle fries I had tried before and it also tasted better compared to the other dishes.  ...

Standing Sushi Bar

After the adventure at Alive Museum, we made our way back to Raffles City as I needed to help get Jenson's birthday cake and present at Awfully Chocolate. Met up with Claudia at the MRT platform and we made our way to Bras Basah. Since we were still early, we decided to go explore Singapore Art Museum. We found the photobooth and spent $2 each of this two strips of kinda failed photo  I have never seen such a slow camera where it's countdown of 5secs felt more like 10secs and we had to hold our smile for so long that it became unnatural, making us Chui instead. But it was a good experience as I have always wanted to play in this photobooth. I really sucked at posing for this kind of shots but photographer, Claudia with her professional 6S produced quite a nice picture. Finally have one decent look shot of step ootd. When it's about time, we met up with Jenson and Hazel at Standing Sushi Bar where we will have our dinner at. We had to wait...

Alive Museum

Michelle has won four tickets to Alive Museum and was nice to invite me and Esther along! Thanks Mich! Even though I had been there before with pigg, it was still nice to go with a different group of people Met up with Esther for lunch at Mos Burger Cafe before meeting mich and paul at the museum. We wanted to eat the Takoyaki but sadly, it closed down... At the beginning I was still very awkward at posing for the photos even though there are no one except for us in the museum. The first section is about famous people and I became a meal for Marilyn Monroe I even got to appear on the big screen for Alive Museum productions, taking over the lion who have always been doing the job. And I became so famous that all the others have to kowtow to me Subsquently, I took over Ariel's role in The Little Mermaid before ending my acting career cos I realised I do not have a knack at it. However, I did not stop meeting famous people and I almo...

Sweet Monster

Image
Finally had my first sweets of 2016 at Sweet Monster, located at Bugis Junction. I had always wanted to try Sweet Monster ever since its launch on a few occasions after dinner but we were just too full.  Cousin caught red handed trying to steal the popcorn. We did not order the popcorn ice cream even though it's their signature as we had sampled their popcorn and it's not as crunchy as what we want it to be. There were not a lot of seats available in the small dine-in area. Hence, we had no choice but to sit at the kids corner where we sat on small plastic chairs at the low table while the other lucky customers get to sit on the high stools at the high tables. Cousin was scared that he might break the chair since he is so big in size.    Due to popular demand from cousin and waiching, we decided to order this cookie mountain which the staff claimed is better than Oreo. *Om Nom Nom* Since we had 4 people, we bought another one to shar...
