Halloween Horror Nights 5- Universal Studios Singapore

Woke up late today due to the fatigue from last night HHN5 saga at Universal Studios, the scareactors did not scare me as much as THE QUEUE for THE MRT and we took 2 hours to escape

The ridiculously long queue which took us inside waterworks theatre and outside then inside again -.- Good work USS for the long snaking queue and kudos to us for surviving 2 hours believing that it will soon be our turn, so much for paying $50 for #cheapthrills to queue and get scared by humans

Fast track to 5 hours before we were stuck in this situation

Geared up in our N95 breathable masks that we bought specially for the haze that never seem to go away

Since it is still early at the time we reached harbourfront, we decided to walk around Vivo City and have dinner first. Deciding on where to eat is always a chore for us, we walked from level 2 to level 1 to basement before going back to level 2 to Paik's Bibimbap to eat the Bibimbap that I wanted to try

This may not look like much, but it certainly makes an appetising and filling dinner

Mix it up and you will get a healthy meal, teriyaki chicken bits, lettuce, crispy cereal, mayonnaise, rice and seaweed. Totally bring back memories of the bibimbap that I missed having in Korea

After the filling dinner, we made our way over to USS via the broad walk since it's free entry for this year, hurray SG50!

We started queuing for entry at around 630 and there was already people queuing, quite surprising as we did not expect this since we came around the same time last year and the crowd was not that big

The turnstiles opened at around 7 and we entered USS for a ceremony before the event officially starts at 7.30pm

A 'mad' scientist came around and rambled that there will be a blood moon and how it would bring by disasters

Theme for this year's HHN5 is something about the blood moon, which I think it's quite smart since its a true phenomenon that just happened not long ago

When everyone are hyped up by the music, the atmosphere suddenly changed when the mad scientist climbed upstage to warn everyone about the blood moon and cried for us to escape before it's too late. Lightning struck on him as strange things started to happen, someone fell off from a building as the moon started to turn burning red

Catched the rare sighting since I missed the real blood moon

One cause of this year's horror night great jam at the haunted houses might be due to the single route availability when the park opens, people would of course rush to the first haunted house they see.

Seeing the rush of people heading towards THE MRT haunted house, we quickly headed for The Hell House at Jurassic Park, luckily the queue was not that long and fast moving

The most memorable experience inside the hell house would be the heat at one part, stimulating the heat in hell. It is not that scary due to a group of guys screaming behind us, making me feel braver as I do not want to feel weaker than them

After we escaped from the burning house, we headed to the Tunnel People living underground in New York. This is one of the haunted house I was scared the most even before entering due to the darkness. The queue is slightly longer than Hell House but still not as bad. Once we get to our turn, we were asked to go to the smaller entrance, I even held hands with a girl cos we were both scared

It was not that dark after all, and they also tried to stimulate the smells of sewers as it stink a little at some point. This is one of the less scary houses and the scare actors only pop up by the side with their torchlight

Right outside the Tunnel People are The Invaders Scarezone which is also the not so scary scarezone as it is quite brightly lit though some aliens are quite gross looking

See, I could even smile while taking an picture with one of the UGMF soldier

Who's scarier?

Leaving the invaders, we skipped The Conterminated scarezone and Blk 50 due to the long queue and regretted as we ended up in a longer queue of 2 hours for THE MRT -.-

Yeah, and that's how we ended up stuck in the queue for 2 hours, once you start queuing its a pity to give up, so we just queue lo,  really hate those people who wear the horns where the flashing lights go on and off and damn irksome to the eyes in the poor lited environment. Could not even use our phones due to the poor connection, kinda envy those people who came well prepared with entertainment while queuing by playing poker cards, drinking game and even charades!

USS should really provide more entertainment for those who are queuing, even the snack trucks ran out of churros, major fail, can't even have something to snack on while waiting... We were amazed at how much we moved, from one end to the other of the Waterworks theatre.

Luckily, THE MRT haunted house was worth the wait, with the realistic props and decor resembling details from the platform, to the train tracks and cabins. This is the haunted house that I go freaked out by one of the zombies who succeeded in scaring me on my way out

Seeing that we wasted 2 hours in queuing, we decided to end our night after the Hungry Ghosts scarezone

With the huge sculpture of the King of Ghosts which looks quite menacing under the red lights

Cropped myself out of the shot cos I kinda ruined it by looking into the camera

Having a stare down with the opera singer who wants to taunt us with his glare

Ended the photo-worthy scarezone with a possessed Grandpa who attempts to strangle Pigg while I take a selfie

It was unfortunate that we did not get to go for the Blk 50 and The Conterminated scarezone, but we were happy to end off the night with the cute and least scariest vampire minion!
