Pigg's 21st Pokeball Birthday Party

Image
Its going to be a slightly different post today as its not about one of our food posts but a celebratory post where Pigg recently celebrated his 21st Birthday at Changi Aloha Chalets.  Hosting a 21st Birthday party is really hard work as lots of planning, preparation and of course, lots of money is involved. I would like to share with you guys the nitty gritty that's involved and how to successfully throw a 21st Pokeball Birthday Party  First up, is the LOCATION !  A place is certainly needed to host the event, and of course, we needed a place big enough to host a group of 60+ people including friends and relatives. Who would want to attend a party that is so crowded with no ample walking space. Hence, Pigg's parents booked Aloha Changi Chalet  for the event. A downside of the location is that it is a little bit out of the way if one do not have any car and there is only one bus service that directly reach the chalet. However, the place is really spa...

Timbre+

I wanted to see what's the hype all about these days at Timbre+- the new container dining concept at One-North. Hence, me and pigg decided to check it out.  As soon as we reached the place, my anticipation dropped by half as it was so crowded (being a Saturday and dinner time somemore) but lucky for us, we got ourselves seats easier than big groups. We got a high table seating at Portico Plates, the corner of Timbre+ where it's not as hot and crowded, where I enjoyed their truffle fries. Yummy, though quite overpriced, $12. But the lightly salted grated cheese and truffle oil infused fries makes a great combination. I also tried their signature seafood paella, luncheon portion which is like half of the full portion. It costs $9 and the full portion cost $16 but I'm glad that I ordered the smaller portions as it's just nice for me. Though the rice is not a lot, the servings for the seafood is indeed generous. The Providore @ Tangs

Image
Finally projects is over and its time to pig out again! To satisfy my sweet tooth and to suit pigg's preference for savory treats, we decided to go for high tea at The Providore. I recently only get to know The Providore from a class presentation and I'm quite interested to find out how their high tea tasted like! Camera eat first! Could not wait to reach the top for the desserts! Pigg pouring his blend like a gentleman Trying to pull off a similar pose but... The high tea was served in a three-tiered stand with the savories on the bottom and the sweets on the top. Of course, we ate our way up by digging in to the savories first before ending off with the sweet treats. The high tea set also came with a pot of Providore tea where we could choose from a range of blends. I chose the Forest Berry and Pigg settled for Jasmine Earl Grey. I preferred pigg's tea though as it tastes mild and light which is good in cleansing the palate. On the other...
