Tuk Tuk Cha
Finally ITI presentation that had been dragged for a week is over! I did not have a good sleep the day before as my mind kept going over my script deterring me from resting...
Of course, we had to take a mandatory group shot to mark the end of the presentation.
Felt like a midget among all these tall people. HAHA
Did not know that level three in SIT @ RP had such a photo-worthy environment. The sun was quite bright in the afternoon and we had to squint our eyes while we had our photos taken.
The result was quite good as we managed to do a jump shot, though I could not quite control my facial expressions and messy hair
Tuk Tuk Cha is finally opened at Sun Plaza after a long wait. North side truly needs more cafes... A cafe in Sun Plaza certainly add points to the neighbourhood mall.
I checked out Tuk Tuk Cha after my ITI presentation where we did on Bangkok and I was craving for thai iced milk tea. We added value to our presentation by serving Thai Iced Milk Tea to our audience but it was overly sweet. Hence, I was even craving more for some authentic milk tea.
Luckily, Claudia was being sporting by accompanying me to check out the cafe together. I was a little surprised that the cafe is actually quite quiet at the time when we reached.
The entire menu of the offerings in Tuk Tuk Cha. I was quite disappointed as they said that their ice cream have yet to solidify and they are unable to serve us the shibuya toasts... which I came for... Hence, we ordered the condensed milk and milo golden toasts instead and a large thai ice milk tea to share. The price is quite reasonable compared to the normal cafes I've been too. It only costs us a total of $7 for the two orders.
We were the only diners at that time... It was around 4 in the afternoon. I was actually expecting more people since it is newly opened.
The Condensed Milk and Milo Golden Toast is crispy on the outside but soft in the inside, and the combination of condensed milk and milo is indeed special. The Thai Iced Milk Tea has a strong hint of tea leaves and the sweetness was just right.
Nice wall design, the attractions of Bangkok which I introduced in my presentation. The entire wall actually consists of Thailand and Singapore attractions since Tuk Tuk Cha is a Thai inspired cafe. However, I was expecting more thai inspired decor in the cafe, I guess they just opened and not everything is in place yet?
There are also a lot of houseflies in store... which turned us off a little... I guess I had high expectations, but since the cafe just opened not long ago, I believe more can be done to improve the situation. Their opening may be a little abrupt since their decor is not finalized yet and that their ice creams are also not solidified?
I might return to try their shibuya toast again, hopefully the cafe is completely ready for business.
