The Providore @ Tangs
Finally projects is over and its time to pig out again! To satisfy my sweet tooth and to suit pigg's preference for savory treats, we decided to go for high tea at The Providore. I recently only get to know The Providore from a class presentation and I'm quite interested to find out how their high tea tasted like!

Could not wait to reach the top for the desserts!

Trying to pull off a similar pose but...
The high tea was served in a three-tiered stand with the savories on the bottom and the sweets on the top. Of course, we ate our way up by digging in to the savories first before ending off with the sweet treats. The high tea set also came with a pot of Providore tea where we could choose from a range of blends. I chose the Forest Berry and Pigg settled for Jasmine Earl Grey. I preferred pigg's tea though as it tastes mild and light which is good in cleansing the palate. On the other hand, I regretted my choice as it tasted sour instead of the sweetness which I was looking forward to.
Overall, my favorite of them all is the mini opera cake which is a good balance of rich chocolate and light cream. I was never a fan of dark chocolate especially, but the cake is so good that it melts in the mouth without even having to bite into it. Even though The Providore high tea is not that fantastic, it is still quite enjoyable with my favorite company. The price is quite reasonable too, $27.50++ per person with a mix of 10 sweet and savory treats. One might think that it is not a lot, but it is indeed quite filling.
However, since The Providore is located in the middle of Tangs departmental store, it made me feel quite conscious as people who were shopping and going down the escalator are constantly looking into the store. Oh well, it was a different experience though, dining in the middle of the ladies section.
