The Betterfield Cafe

Due to Claudia's special request to dine at a cafe and have bingsu as dessert after lunch, I picked out a list of cafés near bugis area. And finally we shortlisted to The Betterfield cafe which serves Italian and French fusion cuisine and most importantly, Claudia's favorite dish- pasta

The birthday girl was late, but an exemption is given since she's the biggest for the day. We then made our way to Blk 261 where the quaint cafe is located.

So glad I suggested ordering this truffle fries which tasted fantastic and also the staff guaranteed that it will taste way better than Mcdonalds petroleum tasting truffle fries. We ordered the medium one instead of the large one and I kind of regretted since it tasted so good. Every single fry is coated with truffle oil, and the fragrance of the truffle is subtle and not overpowering. I thereby crown the fries as one of the best truffle fries I had tried before and it also tasted better compared to the other dishes.

My Prawn Risotto which do not look appetizing at first glance as it kinda resembled puke, but it was sure tasty, with the cheese. However, I was not sure if the tiger prawns are overcooked or not fresh as it tasted really soft and mushy.

Tadah! Camera eat first! Loving the color combination of the plates and our food! Hahas, Claudia's Furikake, Prawn and Chorizo spaghetti looks like a plate of Mee Goreng, they ran out of chorizo for that day so they gave more prawns instead. Hazel's pulled duck burger which is a little spicy came with charcoal bun while Jenson's French Duck confit is not bad too!

A plus point for the cafe is that all items are all at nett price and the average price for our dishes is around $20.

Our mandatory before meal wefie
Disclaimer: Claudia is actually doing the peace sign and not pointing middle finger

After being kinda chased out after lunch as the cafe will closing at 3pm, we went to eat Bingsu which Claudia wanted to try!

We went to Nunsongyee at Bugis and ordered Claudia's favorite Strawberry and also their traditional and classic patbingsu

A not so nice shot due to the lighting but who cares

Bingsu milk pouring ceremony for Hazel and Claudia as they have never tried bingsu before.

Verdict for the two bingsus, TOO MUCH RED BEANS.
It was expected that the patbingsu to have red beans, but we did not expect that there are also a huge bunch of red beans inside the premium strawberry bingsu. On a side note, the milk made the bingsu taste better but it will be nicer without the red beans.
